Today’s Lesson: When Life Gives you Stale Bread, Make Bread Crumbs!
I’m always looking for ways to not waste so much! It kills me when I let food spoil, and bread is always a hard one to use up in our house of two. But alas, there are bread crumbs which are great for cooking. I take my bread crumbs and season them with herbs, salt and pepper and coat fish and pan sear, or try mixing them with herbs and parmesan cheese to coat chicken and then pan sear or bake. So next time you have stale bread, don’t throw it out make bread crumbs instead!
What you’ll need:
Stale Bread! That’s it, just break it up and put it in your food processor and blend until the crumbs reach a powdery consistency. Then store these in an airtight container until you’re ready to use them. If your bread is headed south and you’re not planning on eating it but it’s still not quit stale, just pop it in the oven on 350 degrees for about 15 minutes and voila, stale bread.
